It is clear from the impressive accomplishments the group has made in their community that "Love is in the Care" for the folks producing the Mansfield Cares Charity Ball, now in its 14th year.
This year's Valentine-themed ball -- set for Feb. 16 at Walnut Creek Country Club -- promises an elegant evening packed with fun as the organization raises money for The Caring Place Clinic, the Food Bank building, Feed the Kids, Christmas food voucher program, scholarships and the shoe voucher program.
Co-chairs Lisa Stewart and Debbie Koennecke have worked with a dynamic committee to arrange for guests dressed in funky formal (aka black tie optional) to be met with valet parking as they arrive for an evening that includes a gourmet dinner, spirits, casino, games, auctions and the beat of disco band Le Freak.
"We will have specialty buffet stations with fabulous food and our traditional Chocolate Fountain ... called a "Fountain of Love" for this year's Valentine's Day theme," said Stewart, adding her thanks to House of Petals for floral decorations and Taylor's Equipment Rental for chairs and outdoor heaters.
A sneak peek at some of the auction items previewed online revealed a Michael Kors purse, apparel, accessories, art, jewelry, catered parties, a custom-made memory quilt constructed from your keepsake T-shirts, boot camp adventures, salon and spa treatments, and more -- including a trip to Hawaii.
Mobile bidding will be a snap for guests who pre-register their smartphones; bidding assistants equipped with iPads will also be on hand to help guests.
There's nothing stuffy or stiff about this party where guests circulate among the many entertaining offerings and visit with friends. In the casino area, things usually get rowdy as guests play to see if Lady Luck will smile on them as they enjoy blackjack, roulette and a variety of gaming action.
